Enrichment activity to keep your dogs occupied
With darker nights and rainy weather it’s not always possible to give dogs the exercise and activity they need. So we need to come up with ideas to keep our dogs occupied at home. My go-to is always some kind of training, either teaching Finn a new trick, or practising old ones. This not only keeps him occupied, it creates more of a bond between us which is great for our relationship going forward!
Finn’s favourite enrichment activity
For this activity, all you’ll need is three things:
Some dry kibble/treats
An old tea towel
Toilet rolls (just the middle part)
You just need to flatten the tea towel, scatter over your treats, roll this up, insert into the toilet roll tubes and voila, a fun activity that will keep your dog occupied! Check out the video below for help.
This usually lasts Finn around 10-20 minutes. You can make this even more difficult by tying the tea towel in a knot, it’ll last even longer. If you give this a try, I hope your dog loves it!
